Von Fidel Ranch is the pioneer excursion operator in the Pasikuda area offering unique excursions into the wide open spaces of the Punani outback, west of the Pasikuda beach. The hub of our dude ranch is a permaculture food forest offering organic produce from within! Geese, muscovy ducks and free range chickens on chicken tractor rotation within the ranch work hard to generate and fertilize the soil, control pests and contribute to the experience while diverse birdlife remains the orchestra that completes the tranquil experience!

TREKKING

Scouting for interesting trails
We conduct reconnaissance to shortlist interesting locations and share GPS coordinates with our trek customers.

Von Fidel Adventures offers treks and memorable hikes into the scenic backdrop of the Punani jungle outback. Wide open spaces encompass the terrain in our treks and the experience never fails to relieve the stressed city dude in you!

Elephant herds, traditional cattle and goats breeds, deer, the elusive fishing cat, mouse deer and wild boar are some of the animals that roam these jungles. We offer casual treks, where you will experience unexploited nature, to the more adventurous elephant safaris. We also offer personalized treks to suit your interest to cater to the casual and hardcore trekking enthusiasts alike!

ELEPHANT SAFARIS

Captured by Dhilip De Alwis of ‘Glimpse of Nature’

Our elephant safari is a unique, educational and tactical adventure spearheaded by our special forces veterans. In keeping with our commitment to responsible tourism we approach the herd responsibly from a tactical distance to provide you a pleasant experience. You will also encounter small herds of elephants in their staging areas prior to the nocturnal escapades. Their habitat is also home to the jungle fowl, fishing cat, rusty-spotted cat, wild boar, deer, mouse deer and toque macaque monkeys.

The Setting:  A Permaculture Forest!

The heart of Von Fidel Ranch is a permaculture forest that completes our sustainability through regenerative and perennial agriculture that works with natural forces and local environmental conditions. Inspired by Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton, our permaculture implementation has brought us sustainable results! Our free range chickens and turkey help generate fertile soil towards sustaining the food forest. Muscovy ducks and geese provide biological control of pests while they provide and spread manure. Biodiversity in the property has progressed steadily from monoculture and plough agriculture that was once the only practiced in the area to what we have now introduced, the perennial, regenerative agricultural practice that not only sustains food production but also provides abode to birds and wildlife contributing towards a better environment for all.
